Buddha's Birthday celebrations were held at South Bank again over the weekend. We had a great time stuffing ourselves with some delicious vegetarian only cuisine.

On Saturday afternoon some people from choir started the archives project I've been organising for around 6 months. We have probably around 15 000 items to catalogue, store correctly and organise into chronological order. Saturday night was spent accidently killing off cara's neopet (and promptly working my arse off to bring it back to life). Sometimes even I suprise myself at how crap a parent I am.

Sunday morning breakfast Lisa and I hit French Twist, a French patisserie at Carindale. I am just so in love with that place and the eccentric french guys that work there. it's great, Dunking!!!!

Sunday afternoon I did some more archive stuff. Too much to do and so not enough volunteers or time.

Shin and I are spending the day together and I just can't wait. He's too cute, too much fun and I'm too much in love with him. Yay!

You Are 45% Normal

(Somewhat Normal)

While some of your behavior is quite normal...

Other things you do are downright strange

You've got a little of your freak going on

But you mostly keep your weirdness to yourself

How Normal Are You?

I've been watching John Safran vs God tonight. I really don't find it offensive (unlike some people). In fact I find it highly amusing, religion is really only that. Amusing.

Tonight was mostly on Japanese Zen Buddhism. I've never really known much about the Zen side of things so when they started whacking him a stick. Apparently if you don't sit still enough while looking attentive and focused during your meditation then whack you hard with a stick. In a highly stylised, ritualised manner ofcourse. For some reason I've found the whole notion of the stick almost as amusing as watching the buddhist monks laughing at John Safran and seeing the joy on the head monks face while whacking him with the stick and saying "the foreigners hate this".

Shin was highly suprised that I was unaware of the presence of the stick in zen buddhism. I think he was also somewhat confused by the amusment I derived from watching otherwise apparently serene people whacking each other with sticks. I don't think I could do the whole Buddhism thing, the notion of peaceful enlightenment being whacked into just makes me gigle. That would probably make me get whacked by the stick several more times.
